Professor Arthur Fine's contributions to the field of Philosophy of Science were celebrated at this year's meeting of the Pacific APA. Colleagues, students, and former students of Arthur's gathered to celebrate his work with a symposium and reception, which honored the 25thanniversary of his book, The Shaky Game: Einstein Realism and the Quantum Theory.

The UW Department of Philosophy was pleased to announce The Arthur Fine Prize in Philosophy of Science at the reception in his honor. The Arthur Fine Prize will support graduate students in the philosophy of science. It will take the form of a biennial prize for the best essay submission by a current graduate student to a conference on philosophy of science sponsored by the University of Washington.
