In A philosopher’s perspective on the cruelty of Donald Trump’s immigration policies, Michael reflects upon the language used by universities across the country in response to the administration’s announcement of a new immigration policy for international students. The new policy would have removed exceptions to student visa requirements put in place due to the ongoing pandemic, which would have resulted in international students needing to leave the U.S. if their universities operated fully remotely in the fall. These proposed changes have since been rescinded following widespread push-back and legal challenges from across the country.
