Prior to returning to Seattle to teach in 1994, she taught at Illinois Wesleyan University, a small, private college focusing on the liberal arts in Bloomington, Illinois. Prior to her retirement, she taught a large introductory course every year in addition to various courses in metaphysics, epistemology, the history of modern philosophy, and occasionally a course on personal values.
