Biography

Ph.D. from Cornell University, 1955

David Keyt is professor of philosophy at the University of Washington. He received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from Kenyon College and his doctorate from Cornell. He has held visiting appointments at Cornell, the University of Hong Kong, Princeton, and the Los Angeles and Irvine campuses of the University of California. He has had research appointments at the Institute for Research in Humanities at the University of Wisconsin, the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington DC, the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, and the Social Philosophy & Policy Center at Bowling Green State University. He taught courses in logic and ancient Greek philosophy. David is currently Research Professor at The Center for the Philosophy of Freedom at the Univerisity of Arizona. His recent publications have been on Greek political philosophy.
