After graduating with a BA in biology and philosophy from the College of Wooster (graduated 2012), I attended graduate school in the History and Philosophy of Science department at the University of Pittsburgh (PhD 2018). There, I studied the conflicts between evolutionary-developmental biology and mainstream evolutionary theorizing, bringing philosophical tools to bear on mitigating these conflicts. Subsequently, I did a one-year post-doc with Ford Doolittle at Dalhousie University, working on issues in the philosophy of microbial evolution. Before coming to UW, I spent one year as an assistant professor at Purdue University.
